In fact, only five clubs are represented in this group, only one of which is part of the aces of the playoff calendar.

By virtue of its record-breaking campaign, the New England Revolution is reunited with four of its most deserving athletes of the year, including Canadian midfielder Tajon Buchanan. Midfielder Carles Gil, forward Gustavo Bou and goalkeeper Matt Turner are the other stars of the “Revs”.

Gil receives this nomination for the second time in his career. After missing the majority of 2020 due to Achilles tendon surgery, the Spaniard came back strong and was the top passer on the Garber Tour with 18 decisive discounts, two more than Djordje Mihailovic of CF Montreal.

Three Seattle Sounders flagship Raul Ruidiaz, Yeimar Gomez and Joao Paulo are part of the team, while two members of the Nashville SC (Hany Mukhtar and Walker Zimmerman) are also there.

Zimmerman is the only one to have been elected three times to this eleven of the stars, he who received the title of defenseman of the year for a second consecutive campaign. His work in the center, in Nashville, allowed the team to shut out their opponents 13 times and remain undefeated at home.

Young Atlanta United defenseman Miles Robinson and Golden Boot recipient Valentin Castellanos (New York City FC) round out the squad. The latter led all the league’s scorers with 19 successes, including nine in 11 games between July 25 and September 22.

Attackers: Raul Ruidiaz (Sounders), Valentin Castellanos (NYCFC) and Gustavo Bou (Revolution)

Midfielders: Joao Paulo (Sounders), Carles Gil (Revolution) Hany Mukhtar (Nashville) and Tajon Buchanan (Revolution)

Defenders: Walker Zimmerman (Nashville), Miles Robinson (Atlanta) and Yeimar Gomez (Sounders)
