Celtic have signed a one-season loan deal with Benfica winger Filipe Jota with an option to buy.
The 22-year-old – who spent last season on La Liga loan with Real Valladolid – becomes manager Ange Postecoglou’s 11th signing this summer.
Jota has scored once in 17 Spain appearances but has failed to make an appearance for Benfica since his return.
Celtic have the option of making the deal permanent this summer for an estimated amount of just over £ 6million.
After signing for Celtic, Jota said: “I am very happy to join such a historic and exciting team as Celtic.
“Having played in Portugal and Spain, everyone knows Celtic are a big name across Europe and a club with heart and soul.
“It will be a pleasure and an honor to fight for this club and I look forward to feeling the atmosphere of our supporters in Paradise.
“I know the manager wants us to play fast, attacking football, the way it should be played and I can’t wait to play my part in this.
“I’m going to work hard to do whatever I can to make the fans happy and have a good time together.”
Celtic have also signed striker Georgios Giakoumakis from Dutch club VVV-Venlo on the deadline day, in a deal worth up to £ 2.5million.
