Cedric Soares targets Arsenal return from Fulham loan as Takehiro Tomiyasu injury offers chance

The right-back spent the second half of the season at Fulham after Arteta gave him the green light to leave on loan in January.

Cedric has only started three games with Marco Silva’s side and aims to return to Arsenal and regain his place in the squad.

Ben White has shone at right-back for the Gunners this season and Takehiro Tomiyasu has been used as a substitute, but the Japan international faces a long stretch after knee surgery. Tomiyasu’s injury could give Cédric an opportunity in pre-season.

He has one year left on his current contract at Arsenal, which is worth £100,000 a week. He signed on a free transfer in 2020 and proved a useful member of the squad for Arteta by replacing the full-back on the right and left.
