CHICAGO (SCS) — If you missed the Cavalcade d’Avions on Saturday, don’t worry! You can still catch it on Sunday.
On Saturday, attendees watched the pilots soar through the skies over Clow International Airport in Bolingbrook.
Aviation geeks young and old marveled at the places involved.
Among those present was Bridgette Ellis. At age 9, she broke the Guinness World Record in 1980 for being America’s youngest pilot to fly an airplane.
“My dad was trying to challenge me because at 7 years old he had already taught me to drive a car and to shoot a gun. So he opened the book of records one day, the Guinness Book of world records, and went back to the flying page and said, ‘How do you feel about flying?’ And I said, ‘Sounds good to me,'” Ellis said.
The event is open on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.
