Cardiff City: FA investigates club over allegations of discriminatory behavior | Football news

The Football Association has confirmed that it is investigating Cardiff City into allegations of discriminatory behavior.

The investigation follows an article by Athleticism in which an under-14 footballer claims to have been the victim of racist abuse by his own teammates in a minibus on his way to an away game.

According to Athleticism, the child told FA investigators that “he heard monkey noises and his teammates also rubbed bananas on his clothes.”

The report also states that “FA investigators also heard that the staff had not responded satisfactorily and had failed to crack down on the abuse.

“Indeed, it is claimed that a staff member who first heard the complaint at the time told the alleged victim to get on with it and clean it up himself.”

According to the article, the player has since left the club’s academy.
