Caravaggio’s long-lost ‘Ecce Homo’ painting goes on show in Madrid

Three years ago, a brightly colored oil painting depicting Jesus in a crown of thorns was about to go up for auction for around $1,600. It was originally thought to come from the school of a Spanish artist, but experts made a spectacular discovery: it was instead thought to be a long-lost work by Italian master Caravaggio .
