Capitals’ Tom Wilson annoys Bruins with ‘predatory’ stunt that hospitalizes Brandon Carlo

The Bruins spent most of Friday night enraged at Capitals forward Tom Wilson after ejecting defenseman Brandon Carlo from the game and ultimately in hospital with a free kick.

They believed Wilson had taken a cheap hit on Carlo, whose head hit the glass of the end panels. No penalty was pronounced.

“Clearly, it seemed like he had it in his head,” Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said, per NESN.com. “Defenseless player. Predatory hit from a player who has done this before, so I don’t understand why there was no penalty on the ice. Cassidy told reporters Carlo was taken by ambulance to a Boston hospital.

Bruins forward Brad Marchand called him a “bull” and “cheap fucking stunt” on live TV.

Boston captain Patrice Bergeron gave Wilson a feel for his mind during the game.

Another player who was overheard in the cavernous TD Garden was twittering Wilson.

Naturally, fists were also part of the answer. Jarred Tinordi, in his second game with the Bruins, and Trent Frédéric dropped the gloves with him.

And, for the Capper, the Bruins delivered the ultimate answer, winning 5-1.

If you want to take a tour of the schedule, the Eastern Division teams should meet four more times this season. Their next game will be on April 8 in Washington.
