Camila Cabello blames the paparazzi for ruining her weekend at the beach in Miami.
In a lengthy post shared on Instagram on Saturday, the singer claimed she was ‘not breathing’ and was holding her heart so tight her ‘abs hurt’ as daddies broke her in bikinis from every angle .
“I felt super vulnerable and unprepared – I wore bikinis that were too small and didn’t pay attention to my appearance, then I saw pictures online and comments and I was so upset “, Cabello, 25, admitted in his message.
“I remembered when it impacted my self-esteem that I was thinking about the culture’s thoughts and not my own,” she continued. “A culture that has become so accustomed to an image of what a ‘healthy’ female body looks like that is absolutely not real to many women.”
Cabello – who is gearing up for the release of her third studio album, ‘Familia’, on April 8 – added that she is “a single woman in her twenties in the midst of a ton of [album] promo,” who just wanted to “look good.”
“Today I got a new bikini, a cute outfit, I put on some lip gloss and I didn’t eat anything too heavy before I went to the OCEAN because I knew this would basically be an entire photoshoot,” she explained, referring to her animal print two-piece.
“I held my core so tight my abs hurt and I wasn’t breathing and barely smiling and I was so aware of where the paps were all the time that I couldn’t let go and relax and do what we’re supposed to do when we go out into nature.
The former “Fifth Harmony” singer concluded her post by telling fans her goal was to “get back to feeling like I was at 7 on the beach” who was “happy, silly, breathing, pretending to be a siren, FREE”.
She added: ‘I’ve never had worse times at the beach. I haven’t gotten to the point in my journey yet where I can’t give a f—k.
Cabello’s famous friends were quick to jump into the comments section with words of love and support.
“You are a queen and you are perfect,” wrote singer Kesha, 35. “I also tell my love ❤️ the patriarchy wins when you starve yourself… and for whom? NO. Thanks for the honesty💕💕.”
“Emily In Paris” actress Lily Collins echoed that sentiment, writing, “I feel you and send you all the love and positive vibes ❤️❤️.”
Meanwhile, Paris Hilton admitted that the post “makes [her] to cry.”
“Thank you for writing this, so important that people hear it,” she added. “You are beautiful inside and out🥰.”
The “Señorita” singer is no stranger to sharing her struggles with body image. Last summer, Cabello took to TikTok, sharing a clip titled “I love my body.”
“Being at war with your body is so much last season,” she said, telling fans she embraced her curves despite being body-shamed during a run.
