A California woman who received a sofa for free online from a stranger had the discovery of a lifetime when she later found $36,000 in cash hidden inside.

Vicky Umodu, a San Bernardino County resident, said she was looking on Craigslist to buy furniture for her new home when she found pieces someone was giving away for free, KGO-TV reported.

“I said, ‘Maybe it’s a gimmick.’ I said, ‘Let me call them,'” Umodu told the outlet.

The woman later learned that the family was donating the furniture due to the recent death of a loved one, according to the report.
