LYNWOOD, Calif. (KABC) — The California Department of Justice is investigating a CHP shooting on Highway 105 in Lynwood that was caught on camera.

Several videos of Sunday afternoon’s incident are circulating on social media, showing the altercation between the CHP officer and the man in the middle of the roadway.

The video shows the two men struggling on the ground in the middle of the tracks. The video then shows the officer drawing his gun and shooting the man multiple times.

The CHP says the incident began with reports of a man walking on the highway around 3:15 p.m. Sunday. Officers found the man crossing the westbound lanes while wearing headphones and talking on the phone.
