CAA rookie honors go to sales

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – First-year student RJ Sales was named the Colonial Athletic Association’s Rookie of the Week after his blistering start against Ohio State over the weekend.

Sales becomes the second Seahawk in as many weeks to win the next award Cycle Phelanhonors last week.

Against Ohio State, Sales pitched 6.2 shutout innings for his first career win. He allowed only two hits and two walks while striking out four. Ohio State only managed to get three base runners in scoring position, and no one got past second base before two outs at seventh.

The Seahawks won Game 3 of the series, 2-0, and capped a series win Sunday with a 7-2 victory behind Phelan, who was making his first college start.
