Two protesters were killed and around thirty wounded this Saturday in Mandalay, in central Burma, by fire from the police during an anti-junta rally, the most severe violence since February 1st coup.
This escalation of violence came the day after the death of 20-year-old grocer Mya Thwate Khaing, shot and wounded on February 9. The young woman’s funeral is to take place this Sunday.
