Bucks County man charged in Edgewater Park Wawa Township with stabbing and running over victim

EDGEWATER PARK TWP., New Jersey (WPVI) – Police in Burlington County, New Jersey, made an arrest in connection with an assault at a parking lot in Wawa last month.

The Edgewater Park Township Police Department said Anthony Cordero, 25, of Levittown, Bucks County, turned himself in to authorities Tuesday morning without incident.

Cordero was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of assault by automobile, one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, one count of unlawful possession of a weapon and of four counts of terrorist threats.

The incident happened in Wawa on the 4100 block of Route 130 South in Edgewater Park Township just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, February 20.

Video obtained by Action News showed the suspect in a blue coat arguing with several men outside the store.

The video showed the suspect with his hand in his pocket; police say that’s where he was holding a knife.

It was then that things got out of hand and the suspect stabbed one of the men violently.

Then the video shows him unleashing an all-out assault and they stumble behind the cars out of view of the camera.

According to police, this is where the suspect stabbed one of the victims near his jaw and also allegedly opened the victim’s jacket in an attempt to stab him in the chest.

The video shows the coat feathers strewn across the parking lot.

Things would then spill over to the Wawa’s gas pumps.

It was then that the group of men began throwing security cones at the suspect and he was surrounded.

The video shows the suspect rushing to his car and things get even worse.

A different view of security video from Wawa shows the suspect getting into his car then running over a second victim before driving off.

According to the police, the reason for the chaos was a small argument.

“Looks like a group of subjects argued over a simple ‘what are you looking at?’ Edgewater Township Police Department Lt. John Harris said.

The victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Cordero was treated and incarcerated in Burlington County Jail.
