Bryce Harper ‘stumps’ Phillies to sign Kris Bryant

Some of the Phillies’ biggest needs include adding a pair of outfielders and a stick in the middle of the roster.

Kris Bryant could fill both roles and his friend Bryce Harper is “rushing” for the Phillies to add him to the club according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman.

The two Las Vegas natives are good friends, so the push for the 29-year-old makes sense. Bryant offers positional versatility, with the ability to play left and center field, as well as third base.

The 2016 NL MVP is a four-time All-Star, who hit .265 with 25 homers, 73 RBIs and 10 interceptions in 144 games while splitting time between the Cubs and Giants during the 2021 season .

The question is, at age 30, can Bryant still be the productive batting midfielder on the roster the Phillies desperately need?

Looks like Bryce Harper thinks so, and he was able to convince the front office to give wide receiver JT Realmuto a five-year, $115.5 million deal last offseason.

Can he get a deal with his Las Vegas pal in the offseason?
