GLYNN COUNTY, Georgia – A massive and devastating warehouse fire in Glynn County has left neighbors shocked and concerned.

The Brunswick Fire Department confirmed with Action News Jax that there was a dust explosion on Sunday evening. Intense flames and thick smoke engulfed the area around Newcastle Street.

Neighbors told Action News Jax they can hear and smell him from blocks away.

The Brunswick Fire Department told Action News Jax that the middle of the warehouse had collapsed but the ends were still in place, they told us there were pellets inside and that ‘they were creating heat all the way down.

Action News The Jax Sky Vision drone captured footage of crews working at its facility and we were told the warehouse extended up to 3-4 blocks along Newcastle Street.

Neighbors say loud sounds and sirens alarmed them about the blaze, a woman told Action News Jax she could see the smoke and fire crews had to shut off her gas line.

“I was in the kitchen washing the dishes and I heard a ‘boom boom’ and it rocked my house and I was like okay what happened? Carolyn Macon said, who lives right next to the warehouse. “Then all of a sudden I heard all the sirens and came to the front door and looked out and I’m not leaving, oh lord.

Brunswick Fire Department told Action News Jax there had been fires there before, neighbors recalled a huge one in 2015. Some neighbors say they think this one is much more big and more intense. The Brunswick Fire Department said the fire would burn for several hours until late Monday morning.
