Tuukka Rask is back with the B.
The club reportedly signed the goalkeeper with a one-year salary of $ 1 million. The signing was first reported by PuckPedia.
Earlier Tuesday, the Bruins’ AHL branch in Providence released the veteran from a pro tryout without him playing a game. His agent, Markus Lehto, meanwhile teased a potential signing.
Rask, 34, is recovering from hip surgery that kept him out of play since the Bruins were eliminated in the playoffs last season. He played 24 games last year, posting a 15-5-2 record, .913 save percentage, 2.28 GAA and 3.3 goal save above average.
Acquired by the Bruins in 2006, Rask had a long career in Boston, appearing in 560 games in 14 years. He won the Vezina Trophy as the league’s best goalie in 2013-14 and was named to two All-Star Games.
