Brittany Aldean throws away Balenciaga bags following controversial ad campaign involving children: ‘Trash day’

Brittany Aldean posted a photo of herself throwing away her Balenciaga bags and other items on Wednesday after the brand sparked backlash following a controversial ad campaign.

Balenciaga’s now-discontinued holiday campaign featured images of children holding teddy bears in sexually suggestive costumes. Balenciaga released the controversial photos last week, which showed two young girls holding stuffed animals wearing leather harnesses. Part of the set would have included documents from a United States Supreme Court case involving federal child pornography law.

“It’s garbage day,” Aldean, a mother of two, captioned the photo.

Balenciaga wrote an apology on their Instagram Stories last week, then deleted all images from their account.

“We sincerely apologize for any offense our holiday campaign may have caused. Our plush bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms,” said writes the mark.

They also apologized for “exhibiting disturbing material” in their campaign, adding that they “take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and the inclusion of unapproved assets for our 23” spring campaign photo shoot.

Aldean, who is married to country star Jason Aldean, has been outspoken in the past about kids, especially when it comes to kids wanting to transition to another gender.

“I think kids shouldn’t be allowed to make these life-altering decisions at such a young age,” she told Tucker Carlson in September. “They’re not mature enough; they should have parents who love them and stand up for them regardless. We have ages for everything. We have ages for cigarettes, driving, the military, voting…but for any reason people think we can let a child choose their gender so young? It’s very confusing to me.”

Aldean’s comments came after she received backlash for thanking her family for not changing her gender during her “tomboy phase”.

In addition to Aldean, other celebrities like Kim Kardashian have spoken out about the Balenciaga controversy.

Kardashian said she was “reassessing” her relationship with the brand. “As a mother of four, I was shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the utmost respect, and any attempt to normalize child abuse of any kind should not have a place in our society – period.”

“I’ve been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by Balenciaga’s recent campaigns, but because I wanted the opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how it could have happened,” she said. said on his social media platforms on Sunday.

While Kardashian said she’s glad the ads have been removed, she isn’t ready to give up the luxury business entirely and will wait to see what kind of “responsibility” Balenciaga takes in the future.
