Britney Spears thanks #FreeBritney movement for helping end conservation

Britney Spears on Monday thanked fans and the social media movement who fought to end the pop star’s tutelage.

″ #FreeBritney movement … I have no words, “the singer tweeted.” Because of you and your constant resilience to free me from my tutelage. My life is now on that way !!!!! I cried last night for two hours because my fans are the best and I know it.

The judge overseeing Spears’ guardianship on Wednesday suspended her father, Jamie Spears, as one of her conservatives, with immediate effect, a major step forward in the high-profile battle to free her from the restrictive legal arrangement.

As a result, the 39-year-old singer will be allowed to live without her father’s supervision for the first time since the Guardianship was established 13 years ago, after the star went through an emotional crisis. The judge set a hearing for November to determine whether to end the guardianship.

Spears fans started the social media movement to free her from surveillance in 2019 and rose to prominence after her case was explored in the documentary “Framing Britney Spears” earlier this year. The movement has since gained worldwide attention, sparked protests and garnered support from celebrities, activists and even Congress.

Spears spoke publicly about the arrangement for the first time over the summer, revealing in explosive testimony the “abusive” and traumatic exploitation she suffered under its terms.
