British Grand Prix LIVE! F1 Race Updates and Latest News

Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto admitted yesterday he had “no idea” what the best strategy might be.

He said: “It looks dry this morning, Max [Verstappen] was very fast and very competitive. We are a little late to show it here.

“It’s very tough and the race tomorrow may be a different picture from qualifying, but to come here to Silverstone is such a tough weather condition, tough track, being P1 and P3 is a great result showing that overall , the team, the drivers and the car can be competitive and stay focused on tomorrow’s race.

“Strategy: one, two, three stops, no idea. Which tires to choose, no idea yet. I think there may be different scenarios there, and the tire management we know here, front left [is] always a problem for the amount of energy.

A bit of nostalgia at Silverstone today where Sebastian Vettel prepared for the British Grand Prix driving Nigel Mansell’s 1992 Williams in which he was crowned world champion.

It’s unclear if this was a birthday wish from Vettel – he turns 35 today. He had a sad birthday eve when he and his Aston Martin failed to make it out of Q3.

The atmosphere should be breathtaking at today’s British Grand Prix. There are a total of 142,000 spectators inside Silverstone, bringing attendance to over 400,000 for the three days of action.

It is not impossible that there will be a winner at home, but it must be said that Max Verstappen is the big favorite.
