‘Bridgerton’ star Jessica Madsen is ‘in love with a woman’

Jessica Madsen is celebrating the start of Pride Month with a proclamation of love.

THE The Bridgerton Chronicles The actress revealed on Instagram that she was “in love with a woman, loud and proud of it!”

On his Instagram Story, Madsen also shared viral pride posts saying “News flash: I’m queer” and “Don’t interact with me in June unless that’s the vibe you bring,” the latter featuring an illustration of a unicorn-slash-pegasus with multi-colored wings.

Lots of Madsen The Bridgerton Chronicles costars expressed their support in the comments, including Nicola Coughlan and Jonathan Bailey, who left an abundance of heart emojis below the post. Joanna Bobin wrote: “Come on baby girl! I love you,” while Hannah Dodd commented: “I love youuuuuu.”

Last year, Madsen shared a similar post for Pride, writing “Bi the way….Happy Pride Month” alongside graphics that read “Bisexuals are not ‘confused'”, “Bi AF” and Panic! Lyrics to At the Disco “Girls like girls and boys/and love ain’t a choice.”

In Netflix’s hit historical romance series, Madsen plays Cressida Cowper, a tough newbie who served as a romantic rival to Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Penelope Featherington (Coughlan). In season 3, Cressida forms an unexpected alliance with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), leading some fans of the series to portray the two women as a romantic couple.

In an interview with Weekly Entertainmentshowrunner Jess Brownell explained how the hijackings of the The Bridgerton Chronicles book series make this season more exciting.

“While the book focuses on the hunt for Lady Whistledown and Colin discovers Pen’s secret much earlier in the story, we felt that because we’ve been following the hunt for Lady Whistledown for two seasons now, this story needed a break for a little while,” she said. “Especially since we had Penelope looking for a husband, which isn’t as specific in the books. It seemed important to give that a moment to shine without her secret identity overshadowing the storyline .But there is more to come with this secret in the back half.

The first four episodes of The Bridgerton ChroniclesThe third season of premiered in May, while the final four episodes of the season will arrive on Netflix on June 13.
