Brian Windhorst says you can’t rule out Celtics returning to series

The Boston Celtics attempt to make NBA history in the Eastern Conference Finals.

They fell to a miserable 0-3 hole against the Miami Heat just days ago and were written off as inevitable series losers.

But after scoring a vital victory in Game 4, there is now hope among the fan base that they could do something no other NBA team has: come back from that kind of deficit. and win it all.

Brian Windhorst doesn’t think it’s likely, but he can’t eliminate the risk of it happening.

Speaking on the first take, Windhorst noted all the weird things at play in these “bizarro conference finals” and said the Celtics could be the team to come back from such a big disadvantage.

Windhorst noted that this Celtics team has a very good record when it comes to playoff wins on the road.

But it’s also the same team that made major blunders in this series and completely lost their temper for entire quarters.

He also mentioned that Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra is 13-0 when it comes to closing games at home against every other team in the league.

But he has an 0-2 closing game record at home against the Celtics.

Both of these teams are extremely talented and both have weak points exploited by each other.

If it was another team, Windhorst and everyone else would say a comeback is impossible.

But there’s something about this Celtics roster compared to this Heat roster that makes a comeback unlikely but not impossible.

The anticipation for Game 5 of this series is very high.

If both teams reach Game 6, that anticipation will be through the roof.
