Manchester United and new manager Erik ten Hag started the season last weekend with a disappointing performance in a 2-1 home loss to Brighton.

The Dutchman was employed in a bid to improve on the club’s disappointing season last time out as the Red Devils finished sixth in the league and vacated all three cups in the early rounds.

Brentford fought back 2-0 in their opener at Leicester, scoring twice in the final half hour to snatch a point against the former champions.

Manchester United new signing Christian Eriksen signed for the club from Brentford earlier this summer.

The Dane played an important role in the Bees’ survival last season, with the team just one point above the relegation zone at the end of February.

Thomas Frank’s side ended up finishing their first Premier League season in 13th position, 11 points clear of the bottom three, thanks in large part to Eriksen’s performances.

United won both meetings between the teams last season, winning 3-0 at home and 3-1 away.
