Braylon Edwards tweets support for Frank Gore after assault accusation

Braylon Edwards, a former Pro-Bowl wide receiver, backs Frank Gore after the former running back was charged with common assault stemming from a July 31 incident in Atlantic City.

On Thursday, Edwards took to Twitter, appearing to wonder if there was video evidence of the alleged assault – court documents obtained by TMZ claim Gore grabbed a woman by the hair while she was naked and l dragged her down the hall from her hotel room at the Havana Tower at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City.

‘Apparently’ never mistakes, family man, just retired with the team he started with a month ago and now he’s doing this? So no video? Just his word and no witnesses? Alright, “Edwards tweeted.

The alleged victim, 28, spoke to hotel security about the incident. Police have not identified the woman.

Gore is due in court for a hearing in October, according to court documents. No further details of the incident were released.

Edwards and Gore were teammates with the 49ers for less than a season in 2011, when Edwards signed a one-year contract with San Francisco in August. Edwards was waived by the 49ers on December 27.
