Brandon Deandra Knight arrested for Arkansas car show shooting
Arkansas cops arrested a man on Wednesday in connection with a mass shooting outside a car show over the weekend that left one dead and dozens injured.
Brandon Deandra Knight, 22, was arrested as he was discharged from a hospital at 9.40am – four days after the Dumas shooting that left 26 people with gunshot wounds, Arkansas State Police said.
Investigators believe the shooting was apparently gang-related and began as an argument between two people, according to Fox 16.
Knight, of Jacksonville, was slapped with grievous bodily harm and is being held behind bars pending his first court appearance on Thursday. No other details were available.
Cameron Schaffer, 23, was killed in the shooting, and several children were among the injured.
The “Hood-Nic” event would have gone for 16 years without incident, its organizers announced on Saturday.
“This never happened to us at our event, organizer Wallace McGehee said KATV after shooting. “For something like this to happen, it’s a tragedy… We’ve done this here for 16 years without a problem.”
