It was not easy growing up Greg Brady.
As fans of the iconic brady heap know well, Barry williams brought the older brother of the TV family to life in the beloved sitcom and all the Brady iterations that followed. But, as he shared in a recent rare interview on the Australian morning talk show Today Extra, playing a growing teenager as he has been a growing teenager turned out to be a unique experience.
“The years have been very intense years for me,” he said. “All of my teenage years, 14 to 20, were on The Brady GroupAs he said, “There have been a lot of changes.”
Imagine going through your squeakiest years in front of the whole world. “You can hear the voice change, you can see the hair change, you can see the growth spurts happening with all of us,” he listed. “So it was awkward sometimes and sometimes fun.”
Now 66 years old and with a career spanning more than five decades, Williams’ legacy is not lost on him. “I’m lucky that I was able to branch out and do different things,” he said, “but the Brady has always been a constant and certainly because it was never aired, people have made this bond and it’s very solid. So that’s mainly why I’m recognized and that’s fine with me. I feel like I have a great relationship …
