Bradley Cooper describes the “terrifying” moment when he thought Mike Tyson had actually hit “The Hangover” actor Zach Galifianakis with a vicious straight cross

Bradley Cooper and the cast of “The Hangover” were concerned that Mike Tyson connected to Zach Galifianakis chin during filming.

The former heavyweight world champion made a spectacular appearance in the rowdy 2009 comedy film, which was about a deer gone hilariously bad.

In the film, Tyson has a Bengal tiger stolen from his extravagant Las Vegas mansion, with three bachelor party members desperately trying to retrace their steps and find the groom.

When the character of Cooper and his friends attempt to return said tiger, Tyson hits Galifianakis with a huge blow while singing the Phil Collins classic, “In the Air Tonight”.

Speaking in 2018, Cooper admitted he felt really concerned that Tyson had actually put one of his famous right hands on his co-star, even leaving a gash on Galifianakis’ beard.

“When we all thought he had really hit Zach,” Cooper told BBC Radio 1. “And actually Zach’s beard had this… because his beard looked so much like a Brillo tampon.

“So it’s like you touch him, he keeps pulling back. And his whole beard was moved to the side when he got up.

“It was terrifying and the wind blew from it – he still had it. I think Ed says, ‘He still has it.’

“He still has it!” It was terrifying. He just comes towards us and then he hits Zach.

“Yes, we were terrified. “
