Boston man threatens subway riders with pet rat Jerry: Police


Massachusett’s Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) transit police said they arrested a man after he repeatedly threatened other subway riders with his pet rat, Jerry.

57-year-old Bostonian Jeffery Stuart was arrested at Oak Grove Station in Boston around 4 p.m. Thursday after threatening people with his rat, Jerry, Transit Police wrote in a Twitter post.

On Friday, a prosecutor said Stuart allegedly shoved the rat in people’s faces while yelling at them during their daily commute on the city’s subway. After being ordered to leave the station, Stuart returned and attempted to re-enter, prosecutors said. He allegedly insulted officers, took out the rat and threatened officers.

MBTA described Stuart as a “well-known” subway rider for causing disruption. Transit police also noted that the man with his unusual pet drank alcohol and was disorderly.

The Malden District Court Clerk’s Office confirmed to Fox News Digital that Stuart faces charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing and threatening to commit a felony. Jerry the rat has been turned over to animal control, police said.
