Boris Johnson’s wife Carrie gives birth to baby girl – POLITICO

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s wife Carrie gave birth to her second child on Thursday morning amid one of her toughest weeks as a leader.

The Prime Minister and his wife announced the birth of a “healthy baby girl” in a London hospital.

“Mother and daughter are doing very well. The couple would like to thank the brilliant NHS Maternity Team for all their care and support, ”a spokesperson for the couple said.

Their first child, Wilfred, was born in April last year as Johnson recovered from falling seriously ill with COVID-19.

Johnson is currently under intense pressure after being forced to launch an investigation into allegations of a Downing Street Christmas party last year.

Also on Thursday morning, the Conservative Party was fined after failing to correctly report a donation that paid for the renovation of the Johnson’s apartment.
