Boo Buckets, Adult Happy Meals, McRibs and Krispy Kreme Donuts are on McDonald’s menus, but not for long – NBC Chicago

Fall is the season for McDonald’s lovers – new and old.

For a limited time, the fast-food chain has a few fan favorites as well as new treats on its menu, but some will disappear faster than others.

Here’s a look at what’s new, what’s back, and how long you have before each item disappears.

McDonald’s Boo Buckets

After an extended absence after their initial release in 1986, McDonald’s iconic Halloween “Boo Buckets” are back.

The festive buckets, which come in green, orange and white, returned to McDonald’s restaurants on October 18. The buckets will only be available until October 31, while supplies last. With the popularity of the long-awaited return of buckets, some locations may already be out of Boo Buckets.

Here’s how to get one.

Adult Happy Meals

Earlier this month, McDonald’s launched a unique collaboration with the famous streetwear brand The Cactus Plant Flea Market: a happy meal for adults in the form of a “Flea Market Box”.

You have two options for the Cactus Plant flea market box: a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNugget. The meal also comes with a drink, fries and of course a toy.

Each box comes with one of four collectibles – Grimace, the Hamburglar, Birdie and Cactus Buddy, the latter of which is exclusive to this limited time offer.

Special Edition Happy Meals are available until October 30.

One of McDonald’s most popular limited time offers, the McRib, is back.

A boneless pork patty dipped in tangy barbecue sauce, the sandwich debuted 40 years ago in 1982. Called “barbecue pork sandwich perfection” on the McDonald’s website, the McRib is served with onions minced meat and dill pickles on toasted homemade bread.

If you’ve thought about trying one, but maybe haven’t succeeded, this could be your last chance.

On its website, McDonald’s encouraged people to “get one while you can”, explaining “it’s the McRib Farewell Tour”. Whether that means the McRib will never return remains unclear.

You can order the McRib in the McDonald’s app for delivery or pickup until November 20.

Krispy Kreme Donuts

McDonald’s will sell Krispy Kreme donuts in select restaurants later this month for the first time.

From October 26, the fast food giant will sell Krispy Kreme donuts in nine locations as part of a trial. According to the chain, McDonald’s customers will be able to order the frozen original, the chocolate glaze with sprinkles and raspberry-filled donuts, either individually or in packs of six. Participating McDonald’s locations will sell the donuts throughout the day, but the treats will not be available for delivery.

Krispy Kreme will deliver fresh donuts to McDonald’s restaurants daily, according to the fast food chain.

The problem? The McDonald’s-Krispy Kreme pilot will only take place at McDonald’s locations in Louisville, Kentucky.
