Bolingbrook Police shoot and kill male suspect who stabbed dog, man


CHICAGO (CBS) – Bolingbrook Police shot and killed a male suspect on Friday.

At approximately 3:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Spruce Road for a report of a male subject who had stabbed and killed a dog, Bolingbrook Police said.

During the ride, officers were notified that the assailant had also stabbed a man. Police said this was only preliminary information.

Upon arrival, officers “engaged with the assailant”, shooting the suspect, police said in a news release.

The suspect and assailant were transported to area hospitals. The suspect is deceased.

The stabbed victim is in stable condition.

Police said it was an isolated incident and there was no threat to the public.

The incident is being investigated by the Will-Grundy Major Crimes Task Force.
