Bodycam footage of Tire Nichol’s fatal beating released

Here we are. After two weeks of worry, a week of outrage and several tense days of waiting for the release of what has been described by many public officials as one of the worst abuses of police power they have ever seen, body camera footage of Tyr Nichols fatally attacked by five black former police officers in Memphis, Tennessee, has been released to the public.

BOSSIP does not take videos of this nature lightly, and we want to implore anyone reading this to take a serious inventory of your sanity when deciding to watch this video. It will undoubtedly be traumatic, infuriating, sad, depressing and heartbreaking. We’ve done a lot of reporting on what happened to Tyr and those stories are here for you if you need any information. Don’t feel any pressure to watch and if necessary avoid social media at least over the weekend as many outlets will be streaming the clip.

It’s understandable that many of you aren’t watching, however, public accountability for even the worst actions is mandatory and we’re posting these four videos with that in mind.

The National Guard was sent to Atlanta.

We are absolutely sick to our stomachs and can’t even begin to describe the anger and devastation we feel. We know that many other cities will also demonstrate tonight. Make your voice heard as loud as possible, but be careful.
