Blue light bandit: Johnston County MPs hunt for silver Dodge Charger after teenager fears traffic stops

FOUR OAKS, NC (WTVD) – The creepy close call of a teenage driver in the late evening prompted Johnston County MPs to search for a suspected blue light bandit. It happened the last weekend of August, about two miles from Four Oaks.

It was there, the driver told authorities, that she noticed a car following her on Elevation Road. When she turned onto Black Creek Road, the car was still behind her. Then, after driving three more miles and turning onto Packing Plant Road, she saw flashing blue lights in her rearview mirror. These lights were from the same car behind it, a silver Dodge Charger.

Then two men wearing ski masks got out of the Charger and approached her car, but she drove off unscathed onto the dark rural road.

“They have to find this person or people,” said Ronald Ricard, a family business owner near the intersection where the teenager first noticed the silver Charger. “Whoever it is. I have 5,000 watts of different types of lighting. Unfortunately if she left the area on that particular part of the road there’s really nowhere to stop and it does. quite dark around this area at night. “

The teenage driver was lucky, but now Johnston County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for that money charger, and they want to hear from anyone with any information that could lead to an arrest.
