Black Columbia professor urges ‘anti-racist’ parents to remove students from NJ prep school

Columbia University linguistics professor John McWhorter, who is black, said Wednesday evening that parents of children enrolled in a private New Jersey school that has started teaching critical race theory should remove them before autumn.

“Hail to Dana Stangel-Plowe, who has resigned from Dwight-Englewood School, who teaches students ‘anti-racism’ that sees life only as an abuse of power, and teaches only hostile group identity and grumpy against oppression is the essence of a self, ”McWhorter tweeted.

McWhorter said if parents are “truly anti-racist” they should take their children out of prep school. “Only that will stop these elected parishioners who have lost their way in their quest to forge a new reality for all of us.”

A TEACHER FROM THE NJ PREPARATION SCHOOL DISTRESSES THE CRITICAL THEORY OF RUNNING

Stangel-Plowe, a former English teacher at the school, claimed he was using CRT to teach a “hostile culture of conformity and fear” – making white and male students believe they are “oppressors “.

“The ideology of the school requires that students see themselves not as individuals, but as representatives of a group, forcing them to adopt the status of privilege or victimization,” she wrote in a letter to the chiefs establishment.

Critical race theory teaches that racism is a social construct that is embedded in most aspects of society.

McWhorter is also editor of the Atlantic and recently wrote an article titled “The Problem of Abandoning Standards in the Name of Racial Equity” in which he argues that new university guidelines intended to elevate students of color “are also likely to promote racism to the point of uprooting it.”
