Big E provides a major health update

Big E recently updated his recovery, revealing that his C1 vertebrae weren’t healing optimally.

The C1 vertebra is a section of the spinal cord that controls and helps the head move in different directions and supports the weight of the skull. As a result, the former WWE Champion will have to wear a brace for another four to six weeks to avoid fusion surgery.

Read Big E’s recovery update tweet below:

“For anyone wanting an update, my C1 is apparently not healing optimally. I will be spending another 4-6 weeks in a brace in hopes of being able to avoid a meltdown. But don’t worry! I I have a tremendous support system and what will be will be.”

Big E suffered the injury earlier this year

On an episode of SmackDown in March, The New Day was scheduled to take on the team of Sheamus & Ridge Holland. During the game, a spot called for Holland to suplex Big E belly-to-belly on the outside. However, it didn’t go as planned and E landed on top of his head. He was later kicked out of the show.

After multiple reports surfaced that the former WWE Champion had been injured, there was an outpouring of love and support from fans and wrestlers alike. The Powerhouse of Positivity quickly provided an update via his Twitter account, revealing that he suffered a broken neck. Yet the recovery procedure did not initially require him to undergo surgery:

“I can’t thank you enough for all your concerns and messages. It’s very heartwarming. I can move all my numbers. See that. It’s good. It’s always a good thing. Force feels good but unfortunately right now they’re telling me my neck is broken. So there you go. But again, thank you all. I’m fine. I’m fine. Don’t worry.”

We at Sportskeeda wish Big E the best and a speedy recovery during this difficult time.
