Biden’s Budget Taxes Energy Producers, Raises Gas Prices, and Rewards Oil-Producing Enemies

During Tuesday’s broadcast of “Hannity” on Fox News Channel, House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said the tax increases on energy producers in the proposal President Joe Biden’s budget cuts will mean gas prices will go up, and “our enemies all over the world who produce oil and gas will make taxpayers’ money pay.

McCarthy said: “[A]All he did was make every crisis worse. And the worst part, Sean, is looking at the budget he just produced. You know, they say the budget is about their values, never in this president’s budget does he mention the inflation crisis, the border crisis, the debt crisis, or the parents. But he mentions the climate crisis 33 times. It mentions taxes, fees, penalties 120 times. It just shows where their values are and how unserious they are. But what’s worse in this budget, where it talks about the price of gasoline[s being] so high? It imposes $45 billion in taxes on anyone involved in energy production. So what does this mean? America is being punished, your gas prices are going up, and our enemies around the world who produce oil and gas are going to make taxpayers’ money pay.
