Biden partially building border wall despite Trump jabs is just ‘election year stuff’: Biggs

President Biden will build a section of border wall in Yuma, Arizona, despite a campaign promise not to add “another foot of wall…in my administration” – in what an Arizona lawmaker said, c It’s the White House’s attempt to show they care about the border they originally created.

Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Arizona, told “Hannity” on Friday that Biden was indulging in midterm election “symbolism” by adding a few hundred feet and likely claiming he was doing something about the border crisis.

“The Morelos dam gets a lot of traffic, but it’s kind of an election year symbol for them. It’s all that,” he said, referring to a structure not far from the spot. where Arizona, California, and Mexico meet, near Los Algondones, Baja.

However, Biggs predicted that if the wall is built near the dam, many of the estimated 1,000 illegal immigrants a day pouring into Yuma will simply pass through the Cocopah Indian Reservation.

“So you could shut down the Morelos dam. You could inhibit maybe a hundred [migrants] per day. And then people will go down to the Cocopah reserve. So they’re not really going to accomplish much.”

Biden and Democrats will, however, use the “tokenism” construct to try to pretend they are serious about the illegal immigration crisis, lawmaker Gilbert reiterated.

As host Sean Hannity pointed out, however, the White House has yet to take that tact, instead fighting with reporters over definitions, with spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre answering a question from Peter Doocy of Fox saying Biden isn’t “finishing the wall” but “cleaning up his mess” – when Doocy pointed to Biden’s aforementioned pledge.

Hannity also noted that Biden’s spokeswoman once invoked Mexican currency to call Donald Trump xenophobic about the project:

“Where are the pesos for your sectarian wall?” she once tweeted at then-President Trump.
