Biden mocked story of leaving dead dog on woman’s doorstep

President Joe Biden came under fire on Twitter this week after he told a story about placing a dead dog on the doorstep of a Republican woman.

“And I represented a middle-class neighborhood to a working-class neighborhood, but there was a very wealthy neighborhood,” Biden said. Recount the National Association of Counties conference on Tuesday referring to his time on New Castle County Council in the 1970s. “I got a call one evening; the woman told me – obviously not of the same belief as me, politically – called me and said, ‘There’s a dead dog on my lawn.'”

“And I said, ‘Yes, ma’am.’ I said, ‘Did you call the county?’ She said, ‘Yeah, they’re not there,'” Biden continued. “I said, ‘Well, I’ll get them tomorrow morning.’ She said: “I want it removed now. I pay your wages.” So I went. I picked it up. She said, “I want it out of my front yard.” I put it on her doorstep.”

Biden’s comment drew laughs and applause, at which point Biden explained he “has improved a lot since then.”

“So I know from personal experience how difficult the job you have is,” Biden added. “People – people who have to phone or – you know, or aren’t afraid to use that phone. I used to give out my phone number, I can’t do that anymore. They don’t even allow you to have a telephone.”

Biden’s anecdote was immediately mocked by conservatives on Twitter.

“What is he talking about?” asked a Twitter page run by the Republican National Committee.

“Creepy Joe is back with his disgusting behavior!” author Dinesh D’Souza tweeted.

“Does anyone really know what they’re talking about these days?” tweeted attorney and former senior legal counsel and attorney to former President Trump Jenna Ellis.

“Joe Biden can’t remember half the time most of the time, but he vividly remembers the time he randomly put a dead dog on the porch of someone who didn’t like his politics” , tweeted radio host Dana Loesch.

“Biden said he placed a dead dog on a woman’s doorstep while a county council member,” tweeted comedian Terrence K. Williams. “WHERE’S PETA @peta If President Trump said this it would be all over the news! Joe Biden needs to go! He’s out of balance Am I right or Am I right?”

Duane Patterson, producer of the Hugh Hewitt show, claimed on Twitter that Biden’s story did not match his previous accounts of what really happened.

The White House did not immediately respond to a Fox News request for comment.
