‘Biden got it wrong on every major foreign policy issue’

Republican Brady Duke, a Christian minister and former Navy SEAL sniper, running in Florida’s Seventh Congressional District, said Breitbart News Saturday that President Joe “Biden has been wrong on every major foreign policy and national security issue for nearly four decades,” including Afghanistan.

As the country nears the one-year anniversary of the U.S. withdrawing its resources from Afghanistan, days after the terrorist attack claimed the lives of 13 service members while injuring several others, Duke said that “Biden has been wrong on every major foreign policy and national security issue for nearly four decades.

“We saw that blatantly during the ‘Afghan retreat,'” Duke said. “I have a hard time calling it an ‘Afghan withdrawal’ because, quite simply, if you can’t, if you stand on the battlefield with your enemy, and turn your back and run, you beat retired, you I do not retire.

Reminiscing about the lives lost over the years and seeing the drawdown happen, he acknowledged it was “devastating” for the United States but also “for our relationship with our allies. And the relationship we have forged with the Afghan people. And it’s devastating for veterans. You know, the veterans I talk to, it made us sick. It made many, you know, almost speechless.

“You talk to anyone here in town who – even without any military experience – and they can tell you some basic steps that should have been taken, that weren’t taken by this administration and under this direction,” Duke added. “It is truly devastating to see the life that was lost there trying to do what was right, to stand up against terrorism and to make sure we could stay free. But now it’s, you know, another hotbed of terrorists… We have to hold this administration accountable.

After the killing of former al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in Kabul, Afghanistan, where a US airstrike wiped him out last weekend, Duke said it was a “victory,” but overall, “it’s largely a loss for the Afghan people.” . And it’s still a loss, I think, to the national security of our country.

The Republican candidate also said he was “very concerned” about the national security threat to the United States after a whistleblower report alleged that Biden’s federal agencies had knowingly relocated near 400 Afghans listed as “potential national security threats” across the United States. in the last year.

Especially when you “twin [the resettling of “potential threats” across the counrty] with the issue of the southern border,” he added.

“There have been terrorist issues with our southern border for years and years. And so that’s a real threat,” he explained. “People in this community here locally are actually, you know, security and safety coming as I talk to people as I knock on doors, I do events around town. People are increasingly concerned about their personal safety, and there’s no way the Taliban haven’t heard of this al-Qaeda leader, as you said, walking around in broad daylight.

“Really, I think we have to know that we can trust the leaders,” Duke continued. “I think the fight for our country is really a fight to restore the virtue and the moral courage of the leaders because if we can’t trust those who lead our country, I don’t know how much hope we have of see the restoration we so longed for… But we lack confidence in the leaders.
