Biden ‘enriches’ China by pushing electric vehicles, then blocking US mining

On Monday’s broadcast of Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow,” Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) reacted to the Biden administration’s blocking of a mining project in Minnesota by saying the move “makes part of the deranged climate policy pushed by the Biden”. administration” which “enriches the Chinese Communist Party”.

Erst said, [relevant remarks begin around 3:45] “Larry, this is part of the deranged climate policy pushed by the Biden administration. You would think that to support this huge push for electric vehicles by the Biden administration, they would at least want to source from the United States. But all these critical minerals, we have to go to China to get them or we have to send our own product to China for refining. We have become even more dependent on the Chinese under the Biden administration. And again, this amounts to a deranged climate policy that does not benefit Americans, but rather enriches the Chinese Communist Party. So we shouldn’t do that. We should concentrate and source our natural resources here in the good old United States and create American jobs. If they want to switch to electric vehicles, great, make it a consumer choice. But let’s at least not use China and child and slave labor to obtain these essential minerals. We can do it much safer here.
