President Joe Biden said he was “convinced” that Russian President Vladimir Putin has made up his mind and plans to invade Ukraine.
“From this moment on, I’m confident he made the decision. We have reason to believe that,” Biden said at a Friday afternoon press conference.
Citing “important intelligence,” Biden said a Russian attack could occur in the coming days and would be focused on the nation’s capital, Kyiv.
Biden also said Russia’s “false allegations” that Ukraine was planning to attack separatist-controlled Donbas “defies all logic.” Biden added at Friday’s press conference that there have also been increases in ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine.
