Biden admin ratings crater but VPs are even lower – poll

Kamala Harris posts record approval ratings as more than half ‘strongly disapprove’ of her performance

Americans have an all-time low opinion of Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a poll released Friday by Trafalgar Group. Only 28% of respondents approve of the VP, while 57% of respondents said they “strongly disapprove” of the way she handles her job.

US President Joe Biden also languishes at the bottom of the approval scale, with a full half of the population revealing they “strongly disapprove” of his performance.

Poll responses stood out for the intensity of their disdain for the two politicians. Just 5.4% simply “disapproved” of Biden, while nearly 10 times recorded their disapproval “strongly.” Similarly, only 5.5% of respondents “disapprove” of Harris, a tenth of the number who strongly disapprove.

Fewer than two in five respondents approve of Biden’s performance, with 20.2% saying they “strongly approve”. Harris’s numbers were even more dismal, with just 28.5% approval, 14.8% strongly.

Even party loyalists couldn’t save Harris’ polls – just 51.5% of Democrats approved of his performance, while 23.5% of independents and just 13.5% of Republicans felt the same way.

Like his boss, Harris’s polls have been falling for months now. In November, she had more respondents disapproving of her performance (42%) than approving (37%), numbers that remained largely unchanged in February.

Despite the usual endorsement that presidents receive in times of conflict, the Biden administration’s ratings are plummeting despite its standoff with Russia over Ukraine. Many Americans have soured on the administration over soaring inflation and soaring gasoline prices, despite Biden’s efforts to blame the country’s financial woes on Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Harris, meanwhile, has been accused by critics of having largely failed to perform her duties in the administration — such as containing the flow of illegal immigrants across the southern border. A recent court filing revealed that 756,109 illegal aliens have been arrested and released by U.S. authorities since the administration took office in January 2021 — a number that doesn’t even include migrants who managed to sneak into the country without getting caught.
