Beterbiev vs Yarde: fight time, undercard, prediction, ring walks and latest betting odds

nthony Yarde faces a huge challenge as unified champion Artur Beterbiev travels to London for an explosive light-heavyweight title fight this weekend.
Few give Hackney’s ‘beast from the east’ a chance to cause what would be one of the biggest boxing upsets by a British fighter in modern memory on Saturday night, although the presence of a champion equally dominant on British soil should still put on a fantastic show at Wembley Arena.
Unbeaten Beterbiev is one of the sport’s fiercest and most impactful titlists, holding IBF gold at 175 pounds since 2017 and adding the WBC belt two years later, before reclaiming the WBO strap with a second-round demolition of Joe Smith Jr in New York last summer.
The Russian who is fighting outside of Canada is only missing the WBA belt to complete the set, with an undisputed epic showdown against Dmitry Bivol which could loom later in 2023 if he can graze Yarde first, potential rematch notwithstanding of his compatriot with Canelo Alvarez.
A highly decorated amateur with European and World success, Beterbiev is 18-0 as a professional with all of those wins by knockout. Many see it as simply mission impossible for Yarde, who was originally expecting this fight in October before the champion suffered an injury.
The 31-year-old became Beterbiev’s mandatory WBO challenger after avenging his surprise loss to domestic rival Lyndon Arthur with his own knockout in October 2021.
That fight was sandwiched by easy wins over Alex Theran and Stefani Koykov, with the 23-2 Yarde now facing a huge upswing in the class three and a half years after going to Russia and giving Sergey Kovalev a real fright over his previous failure. challenge for the WBO light heavyweight title in 2019.

Beterbiev vs Yarde fight prediction
Brave Yarde won’t be intimidated or intimidated by the big challenge that awaits him this weekend.
He showed against Kovalev that he has no fear when the odds are firmly against him, and on that occasion he nearly shocked the world with an eighth-round stoppage.
While it’s extremely difficult to see that happen again here, you can be sure Yarde will give his all in his home.
For all of Beterbiev’s fearsome power, his opponent is also very powerful and will be only too ready to exploit any mistakes made by the Russian.
Although the champ has plenty of first-half knockouts on his stellar resume, he was taken nine rounds by Marcus Browne in a bloody affair in Montreal in December 2021 and also had 10 with Adam Deines and Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
Yarde will no doubt make it tough and Beterbiev will likely have to methodically break down another opponent here rather than score a quick knockout, before completing a dominating performance in the closing stages.
Beterbiev wins by knockout in the ninth round.
