Former Aston Martin head of race strategy Bernie Collins joins Sky Sports F1 team
Sky Sports F1 has announced that former Formula 1 chief strategist Bernie Collins will join the team this year.
Collins – whose expertise lies in F1 engineering and strategy having worked as a performance engineer at McLaren and head of race strategy at Aston Martin – will take on both on-screen and off-screen roles, helping to explain and demystify all things strategy and team engineering for Sky Sports F1 viewers old and new.
She will appear on screen for the first time alongside Martin Brundle, Nico Rosberg and Damon Hill at this weekend’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, ahead of a number of other races throughout the calendar, in more of his role at Sky Studios.
“I am really delighted to start this new chapter with the Sky Sports F1 team and would like to thank them for this opportunity,” said Collins.
“After many years on the pit wall, I look forward to embracing this new role within F1 from a spectator’s perspective and enhancing their racing experience.”
