Beijing removed a rule limiting second-hand house prices in a working-class neighborhood

South China Morning Post with today’s report:

• Beijing authorities have repealed a rule that limited the listing prices of second-hand homes in Haidian district, a move intended to boost demand and support the country’s flagging property market.
  
• In Haidian, a district known for its good schools and access to quality education, 29 properties are now publicly advertising their listing prices for second-hand homes, as reported by local media.
  

• Properties whose ownership allows students free entry to nearby prestigious schools were previously prohibited from displaying their prices due to inflated demand between 2020 and 2021. A price restriction has also been placed put in place by the Haidian District Real Estate Association in September 2021 to curb a price surge. and stabilize the market.

The liberalization of prices has given a boost to investigations, report local agents.
