Beat Saber will be available on May 24 on PlayStation VR2

During its PlayStation Showcase event, Sony revealed that beat the saber, the hit VR music game, will launch on PlayStation VR2 on Wednesday. We already knew beat the saber was in the works for Sony’s new VR headset, but the sudden launch comes as a surprise. If you already have beat the saber for the original PSVR, you’ll get a free upgrade to PSVR version 2, according to Sony’s YouTube trailer description for the game. Along with the release, Sony also revealed that you’ll be able to purchase a bundle Queen-themed music sheet for the game.

beat the saber wasn’t the only new VR at the event. Sony showed footage of the VR mode in development for the recent (and very good) Resident Evil 4 redo. It looks spooky, with clips of protagonist Leon Kennedy’s first steps into the world and a visit to the village. But we didn’t get a release date of any kind – the trailer ended with a simple reminder that the mode is in the works. The full story mode will be available to play in the game, according to a PlayStation blog post.
