Bam Adebayo out of COVID protocols, available for Game 1

heat center Bam Adebayo has officially left the league’s health and safety protocols and is expected to be available against the Hawks in Miami in Sunday’s playoff opener, according to Anthony Chang from the Miami Herald.

Adebayo entered the protocols on April 10 and coach Erik Spoelstra indicated on Friday that he expected his starting center to clear them this weekend.

This is obviously a major evolution in the series, especially since the Hawks could be without a center Clint Capela, who suffered a knee injury in the play-off win over Cleveland on Friday. Adebayo averaged 22.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in two games against Atlanta this season.

For the season, Adebayo averaged 19.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.4 career assists in 56 games. He hasn’t played since April 8, when Miami beat Atlanta by four points.
