“Bachelor in Paraide” alumni Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby have decided to call it quits.
“We’re not together anymore,” Allio revealed on Monday’s episode of Jason Tartick’s “Trading Secrets” podcast.
“This is not what we had planned,” he continued. “We’ve both invested a lot in this relationship and it’s really horrible when it doesn’t work out.”
The reality star, who fell for Maltby, 37, while filming season 8 of “BiP” last year, said the now exes finally realized they were “not necessarily compatible.
Allio explained: “You grieve the loss, not only of this person and this friend in your life, but also of the future that you had envisioned. And it’s not his fault.
The father-of-one noted that Maltby “put everything” into their relationship, making the end of their romance bittersweet.
“I have so much admiration (for her),” he explained. “We are still working on some things and trying to stay close. But the last few months have been really difficult.

Maltby, for his part, has yet to publicly address the breakup.
Allio — who previously competed for Katie Thurston’s heart on season 17 of “The Bachelorette” in 2020 — told fellow Bachelor Nation star Tartick, 34, that the idea of being single again is scary.
“Starting again is always scary. It’s definitely scary, but that’s part of it,” he said. “I know time will heal because I’ve felt this way before, but that doesn’t make it any less difficult.”
Splitting speculation began this summer after fans noticed that Allio and Maltby had stopped posting photos of each other on social media.
Allio played coy when asked about the status of their relationship during an August episode of the “She’s All Bach” podcast.
“Danielle and I both agree that the only people who should be in our relationship are the two of us. So we think the healthiest way to have a relationship is to keep it private,” he said, adding that “being in a public relationship is not fun.”
Before their split, Maltby — who originally joined the franchise on Nick Viall’s season of “The Bachelor” in 2017 — moved to Ohio to be with Allio and his young son James, whom he shared with his late marries Laura. The move came after Maltby and James bonded, a connection Allio swooned over.
“At the time we first introduced it, I think we had been dating for maybe, you know, six weeks, five weeks, which is way faster than the timeline I would normally have ” he told Us Weekly in November 2022.
“But I’m glad I did it. I immediately saw their connection and it’s just a beautiful thing.
Maltby, at the time, said Allio’s parenting skills contributed to his attraction.
“Something I loved even more about you was just seeing you be a dad.” For example, every child deserves a father like Michael,” she told him directly during their joint conversation with the media. “I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life.”
