Audrina Patridge blames ‘The Hills’ for Chris Pine breakup

Audrina Patridge blames ‘The Hills’ for the demise of her relationship with Chris Pine at the end of the years.
“He didn’t like going out and being followed by the paparazzi – he was introverted and very focused on his game,” the reality TV star turned author, 37, recalls in her new memoir, ‘Choices: To the Hills and back.
“I loved going out and, of course, I usually did ‘The Hills’, so our lifestyles were complete opposites in that sense.”
The former couple – who met in April 2009 at the ShoWest Awards in Las Vegas, where Partridge was honored for her role in horror film ‘Sorority Row’ – made a concerted effort to avoid the attention of tabloids that made Pine, now 41, uneasy.
She writes that the couple would date in Los Feliz or Silver Lake, two neighborhoods in East Los Angeles to avoid the paparazzi and a fan once took their photo at a restaurant, which she says seemed the ” annoy”. She was also photographed leaving her home once.
Patridge’s commitment to MTV’s iconic unscripted series ultimately made it impossible for her relationship with Pine to last.
“With my shooting schedule and the fact that there was no way Chris wanted to be on [‘The Hills’], I just knew that after a few months, I couldn’t date him,” she notes. “My life was the TV show, and there weren’t enough hours in the day to do my job and find time to see it privately.”
Patridge adds, “He was a big, up-and-coming actor with demands on his time, and it didn’t seem like our lives were aligning, even though we really loved each other.”
According to the Prey Swim founder — who appeared on “The Hills” for six seasons from 2006 to 2010 — the duo amicably parted ways.
“We talked and stayed in touch for a bit after they stopped seeing each other. I have nothing but fond memories of Chris,” she wrote. “He really was one of the most normal people I’ve ever met in LA – and I say that as the biggest compliment.”
Page Six reached out to Pine’s rep for comment.
In addition to Pine, Patridge has dated “Hills” alum Justin Bobby Brescia and musician Ryan Cabrera. She eventually married Corey Bohan – with whom she shares daughter Kirra, 6 – but finalized her divorce from the former BMX athlete in 2018.
Most recently, at a Super Bowl party in February, Patridge was spotted getting close to actor Josh Henderson, Page Six exclusively reported at the time.
However, she is apparently single these days, just like Pine. The ‘Star Trek’ star reportedly split from actress Annabelle Wallis in March after nearly four years together.
“Choices: To the Hills and Back Again” is out now.
