Athens man charged with human trafficking and child sex crimes

ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – A man has been charged with human trafficking and multiple sex crimes after a child sex abuse investigation.

The Athens police received a complaint on February 16, which opened a thorough investigation.

Investigators have charged 20-year-old Payton Andrew Bolin with first-degree human trafficking, two counts of second-degree rape, first-degree buggery and two counts of second-degree buggery.

Athens police arrested Bolin on March 14.
