At least 54 shot Friday through Monday morning of July 4 weekend in Chicago, Mayor Lightfoot


At least 54 people were shot, including seven fatally, from Friday to Monday in Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D).

Breitbart News noted that 31 people were shot Friday through Sunday morning in Chicago. Four of these 31 victims succumbed to their injuries.

ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times reports that the number of gunshot victims was at least 54 as of Monday morning, with three more gunshot fatalities.

The first of those three additional fatal shootings was 29-year-old Keishone Roberts, who was fatally shot and injured at 5 p.m. Friday. He was taken to hospital where he died.

Minutes later, at 5:45 p.m., a 26-year-old man was fatally shot “in the 6500 block of South Wolcott Avenue.” He was pronounced dead in hospital.

One person was shot dead and two others were shot and injured at 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning. The deceased was a 24-year-old man who was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.

The data compiled by the Sun-Times shows that 320 people were killed in Chicago from January 1, 2022 to July 3, 2022.
